Yogurt Pie

Monday, May 24, 2010

I mentioned this "recipe" in this post, and have had a few people ask me about "yogurt pie," so here goes.

This concoction was imparted to me by my dear friend Leslie C, the first year J and I were married. It is a dessert staple in our house, as its variations are limitless but its yummy taste/lightness is constant.

This is REALLY all you need to make yogurt pie happen:

What it takes: pie crust of your choice, two cartons of yogurt any flavor/brand/size (yes, even the little Activia ones work!), one regular-sized carton of Cool Whip.

C'est tout. [that's all.]

We (most often) love cherry-flavored yogurt with graham cracker crust.

Stir the cool whip together with both cartons of yogurt.

While you're doing this, you can listen to the Glee Pandora station on your phone (with or without real speakers).

Pour into the crust.

Let it get as firm as you like...refrigerate one hour and up.

Light, tasty, and as healthy as you want it to be. You can add fresh fruit, do it without a crust but a cookie topping, no topping/crust, homemade pretzel crust, shortbread crust...the sky's the limit! We've done peach, raspberry, strawberry, key lime, cherry, and not one has disappointed.

Yogurt Pie:

Crust of your choice (homemade or ready-made)
2 cartons of yogurt, your choice (any flavor, brand, size)
1 regular-sized container of Cool-Whip

Stir cool whip and yogurt together. Pour in crust, top with fresh fruit if you'd like, and refrigerate.

Now you REALLY know all of my secrets.

  1. Mmm...

You made me the raspberry version when I had Colt, I believe. Did you bring it to me frozen though? I think I remember it that way? I do remember it being yummy.

  2. yum! Sounds delicious!

  3. Leslie, I didn't know you had a blog until I just saw your Facebook post about your pickles! Love it. You made me laugh with your Glee Pandora station, because that is exactly what I listen to when I'm in the kitchen! Will be trying some of these fun recipes soon. Hope you are well.
