Kitchen Inspiration

Thursday, May 06, 2010

I've been up to my eyeballs in boxes, newspaper wrappings, paint, and junk over the past several days since the big move.

Unfortunately, the camera cord has not yet surfaced, nor has the internet been anything but completely spotty, so I can't post a ton of pics yet.

But I do have this phone shot of the porch this morning:

with a sweet hydrangea my mom brought over.

I digress.

Okay, so in looking through inspiration photos on kitchens (among other things), I came across this photo on my tumblr (where I used to post inspiration stuff/links more often):

All my post says is "from design sponge" -- what an idiot. I want to know more. I just LOVE this photo. The cabinets, the wall color, the open shelving... ugh.

I asked design-photo-internet-searcher-maven Lauren to help me look, and alas! her searches were fruitless as well.

Thus... HELP!

Anyone know where the above photo originally came from?
If you know, please email/let me know!
Thanks to the marvelous Karolyn for finding the original link for me on d*s, here.

here's another fave kitchen :

This one made the blog rounds a few months ago...I can't remember where I first saw it, but I know it's been posted about here.

More kitchen photos to love:

So what's the theme here? Open, light, blues/greens... Are these super-girly?

You'll soon see what we've got on our hands.

  1. L,

Love the inspiration pics. I hate that I have ran out of rooms to decorate ha! Anyways you know how I feel about martha stewart blues/aquas..... esp. when mixed with reds ( you've seen my kitchen). Martha STewart teamed up with Lowes and my kitchen is vintage map . Martha stewart now moved her line to Home Depot- and she has some fabulous blues/greens, you should check out if you go in that direction! I can't wait to see pictures! I love your ideas!!!

  2. i'm so glad you were able to find the picture source! i do not know how on earth i missed it...i swear i looked for 11/03/09. tricksy little post.

and those kitchens are most definitely not girly! the pure style home kitchen is in my inspiration files as well - i love white and greenish/grayish/bluish shades in a kitchen. can't wait to see more of your new house!

  3. All I know is that Tyler makes cabinets that are as beautiful as that first picture you love. If you ever wanna totally rip out your kitchen... holler at him.
