About to burst...

I am dying to talk to someone about the Gilmore Girls finale. Tears were shed.

  1. Oooo! Talk to me! Talk to me! [Waving my hand in the air wildly...]

  2. I will email you today. Hey, did you know that your comment on Brooke's blog was quite controversial? Hilarious.

  3. Leslie!
I came across your blog via Brooke's blog. I have enjoyed seeing pictures from and reading about your beautiful wedding!

I was reading through your posts and came across the birthday blog. All I have to say is, I feel you sister. At the risk of sounding like a total spoiled brat, I tell the following story...

I got married 2 days before my birthday and cried on my honeymoon because I felt like it was soooo overshadowed by the wedding. I felt so isolated from friends and family on my special day despite the fact that I was on a fabulous cruise celebrating my recent marriage to a wonderful man! No cake (usually a pink strawberry cake as well), no presents, no silly birthday songs...all of my favorite birthday rituals were forgotten in the crazed wedding frenzy. Greg and I had agreed that he would buy my birthday gift on our honeymoon because we knew the islands we would be visiting had great jewelry stores and I wanted something sentimental that I could keep forever. On my birthday we saw a beautiful cross necklace that I wanted and we planned to go back and buy after our snorkeling trip. We didn't finish snorkeling until right before the ship left port so we didn't have time to go get the necklace. That was it--I totally melted down right there on the streets of St. Thomas island like a four-year-old who couldn't have ice cream. Greg was such a trooper and put up with my melodramatic breakdown. He has since made the oath to never do a combo gift (anniversary + birthday) and has spent countless hours on the internet searching for that necklace (which, by the way, he never found). So, I'm with you on the anniversary/birthday subject.

Sorry I violate blog etiquitte by not commenting about your Gilmore Girls post, but your birthday post hit close to my heart.
